Trained at Chicago's School of Massage Therapy in 2007, I have years of experience in practicing a more clinical/therapeutic approach to the human body. This includes observing the body's imbalances and habits, understanding improper movements which contribute to discomfort, and how these affect the muscles involved. My care also includes advice about stretching and strengthening the areas of concern to continue your wellness journey between sessions.
Visceral Manipulation is a form of gentle bodywork designed by J.P. Barral, founder of the Barral Institute. It is a way of listening and engaging with the body to get to the source of dysfunction, rather than treating only the symptoms, and generally involves the organs, their fascia and connective tissues, as well as arteries, veins and nerves. This treatment model is the foundation of my sessions, allowing the body to lead us where it needs our attention most, and helping re-establish equilibrium on the body's terms.
The silent waste removal system in our bodies, moving lymph fluid is as important as circulation massage. Swelling, relieving nerve irritation, clearing of blemishes, and digestion are all supported by Lymphatic Drainage techniques. Clients report a sense of calm energy after these treatments.
Cupping therapy is an ancient Chinese form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin to mobilize blood flow in order to promote healing.
